Swampy the Alligator

#### Background
Swampy is the cheerful, optimistic alligator who lives in the sewers of a bustling city. He loves cleanliness and enjoys nothing more than a long, hot shower. However, his water supply is constantly interrupted by his grumpy neighbor, Cranky. Swampy's story is the primary campaign of the game. His sewer home is plagued by broken pipes, dirt, and obstacles that block the fresh water from reaching his shower.

#### Strengths

• Clean water mechanics: Water flows naturally, evaporates when exposed to toxic ooze, and can be absorbed by dirt. Swampy's levels introduce core physics (digging, redirecting, collecting water).


• Forgiving difficulty: The first levels of each chapter are straightforward, teaching basic interactions.


• Positive morale: Swampy's cheerful animations and sounds provide a lighthearted experience.


#### Weaknesses

• Vulnerable to toxic ooze: If clean water touches purple ooze, it becomes contaminated and can't be used for Swampy's shower (the level will fail if too much ooze mixes in).


• Dirt and algae: These obstacles require extra strokes to dig through, slowing progress.

#### Playstyle

• Mushroom: Appears in some levels after collecting enough ducks; gives a temporary boost to water flow speed.

• Toxic ooze mechanics: Ooze can dissolve certain obstacles (algae, some dirt types) that clean water cannot. It also does not evaporate when mixed with clean water—instead it turns into a harmless neutral liquid (useless for completing the level).


• Direct interaction with hazards: Ooze can be split, merged, and redirected more predictably than water because it's thicker.


• Higher risk, higher reward: Levels often have multiple routes, encouraging creativity.

• Ooze contamination: If ooze touches clean water too much, both become useless (you need pure ooze for Cranky).

Cranky's campaign becomes available after completing Swampy's first chapter (Chapter 1-1 to 1-20). On the level select screen, swipe left or tap the "Cranky" tab. No additional purchase is needed; he is included in the base game.

No equipment. However, note that Cranky's levels do not contain mushrooms or boom boxes; power-ups are specific to Swampy's campaign. Focus on learning ooze physics.

Manny the Duck



#### Background
Manny is a cute, lost duckling who appears in the third campaign of the original Where's My Water? (added via a free update). Unlike the alligators, Manny doesn't need a shower; instead, he wants to be guided safely through the sewers to reach his mother duck or a safe pool of water. Manny's levels are side-scrolling obstacle courses where you must clear a path for him while avoiding enemies and hazards.

#### Strengths

• Platforming style: Manny's levels are more action-oriented—he can slide, jump, and waddle. You control his movement directly by digging paths and triggering objects.


• No water management: There is no water/ooze to guide. Instead, you manipulate the environment to keep Manny safe.


• Charming aesthetic: Manny's animations are cute, and the duckling theme appeals to younger players.


#### Weaknesses

• Fragile character: Manny can die easily from touching spikes, getting crushed by boulders, or falling into toxic pools. One mistake often forces a restart.
