Cheats & Secrets Guide for Where's My Water?
Where's My Water? does not contain traditional cheat codes (e.g., button combos) or debug menus accessible to the player. However, the game includes multiple unlockable secrets, hidden content, and Easter eggs deliberately placed by the developers. This guide covers every known secret, unlock condition, and hidden feature across all platforms (iOS, Android, Windows).

1. Unlockable Characters (Secret Playable Alligators)
While Swampy is the main protagonist, you can unlock three additional alligators to play through their own story chapters. Each has a unique water preference and mechanic.
| Character | Unlock Method | Level Set Name | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cranky | Complete all 40 levels of Swampy’s story (Chapters 1–4). | Cranky’s Story | Cranky loves muddy water; mud works like water but won’t clear certain obstacles. |
| Allie | Complete all 40 levels of Cranky’s story. | Allie’s Story | Allie loves purple water (toxic, acidic). Purple water dissolves certain barriers. |
| Mystery Duck | Complete all 40 levels of Allie’s story. | Mystery Duck’s Story | The Duck requires normal water but has no external preference; levels are themed around secret lab areas. |

2. Secret Levels & Bonus Content
Several levels are hidden behind specific achievements or non-obvious actions:
- Level 2-20 (Swampy’s Chapter 2, Level 20): Unlocked by achieving three rubber ducks on every level in Chapter 1 (Levels 1-1 through 1-20).
- Level 4-20 (Swampy’s Chapter 4, Level 20): Unlocked by collecting all ducks in Cranky’s Chapter 2 and 3.
- Bonus “Lost Levels” (Mobile only): A set of five extra levels accessible from the main menu by tapping the ‘?’ icon next to the episode select screen. There is no in-game notification; you must notice the faded icon.
- On the main menu, repeatedly tap Swampy’s showerhead (the nozzle icon) five times. He will make a squeaking noise, and a small water drop will appear on screen. This has no gameplay effect.
- In the level select screen, tap and hold on any locked level icon for 3 seconds. A subtle “X-ray” view of the level’s terrain will flash briefly, revealing hidden pipes or water sources.

3. Easter Eggs
#### 3.1 Interactive Menu Elements
#### 3.2 Level-Specific Easter Eggs
| Level | Easter Egg | How to Trigger |
|---|---|---|
| 1-5 (Swampy) | A hidden rubber duck floating in a pipe behind the left wall. | Tap the far-left edge of the screen during gameplay. The duck appears for 2 seconds. |
| 2-10 (Swampy) | A crocodile named “Mortimer” peeks from a sewer grate when you tap the grate three times. | Quick triple-tap on the grate near the bottom of the level. |
| 3-15 (Cranky) | A disco ball appears if you direct mudflow onto a small hidden switch behind a stalactite. | Let mud flow to the stalactite furthest right; wait 3 seconds for the ball to lower. |
| 4-20 (Allie) | An animated portrait of Walt Disney appears on the wall after collecting all ducks in that level. | Complete the level with all three ducks; the portrait appears for 5 seconds before fading. |
- From the main menu, go to Settings → About. At the bottom of the credits text, you’ll find a tiny icon of a rubber duck. Tap it 10 times rapidly. The screen will flash, and a short video of the development team waving appears. This works on iOS and Android.
- Slow Motion Mode (Unlisted): On mobile, while a level is running, tap and hold with two fingers simultaneously. The game speed slows to roughly 50% for as long as you hold. This is useful for precise timing on difficult puzzles.
- Reset Single Obstacle (Advanced): If you have a rock or movable object in an inconvenient spot, tap it twice quickly instead of tapping the reset button. This will reset only that one object to its starting position, not the entire level. Works on all platforms.
- Prefilled Pipes (Secret Quality-of-Life): In any level, if you completely fill a pipe with water and then empty it, the pipe will retain a thin coating of water for the next attempt. This doesn’t affect gameplay but is a visual secret.
- Skip to Next Chapter (Early Unlock): This is not possible without completing the prior chapter; no level skip codes exist.
- Infinite Duck Refills (Mobile Only): If you exit a level to the main menu immediately after collecting a duck (but before the duck animation finishes), the duck is saved and you can replay the level to collect it again. This trick is useful for duck farming but is considered an exploit by the developer and may be patched on newer builds.
- Secret “Lab Rat” Achievement (Windows 8): On the Windows version, if you complete Mystery Duck’s story within 24 hours of starting the game, you unlock a hidden avatar for your Microsoft account. This is no longer obtainable because the Windows Store version is delisted.
- Cryptic Message in Level 4-20 (Allie): The background bricks form Morse code reading “DISNEY” when viewed from a specific angle. Rotate your device 90 degrees counterclockwise and look at the top-left corner. – Note: This is a visual Easter egg, not a cheat.
- No Cheat Codes Exist: There are no debug menus, config file modifications, or in-game code entry screens. Any online claims of cheat codes are false.
- Avoid Modified APKs/IPAs: Using hacked versions to unlock characters without completing levels may corrupt your save data, especially on older devices.
- Delisted Game: As of 2025, Where’s My Water? is no longer available for download on official stores (Google Play, App Store). If you already own it, you can still play offline, but online features (leaderboards, cloud saves) are disabled.
