Hades Download & Installation Guide



This guide covers everything you need to download and install Hades across all official platforms: PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5, and Xbox One/Series X|S. There is no legitimate mobile version of Hades.

    3. Step-by-Step Installation



    PC – Steam


    1. Download and install the Steam Client from [store.steampowered.com](https://store.steampowered.com).
    2. Launch Steam, log in to your account (create one if you don't have it).
    3. Click the Store tab, search for "Hades".
    4. Purchase the game (or redeem a Steam key).
    5. Go to your Library, find Hades in the list, and click Install.
    6. Choose installation directory (default is `C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hades`).
    7. Wait for download (~15 GB).
    8. Once complete, click Play.

    PC – Epic Games Store


    1. Download the Epic Games Launcher from [store.epicgames.com](https://store.epicgames.com).
    2. Install and log in with your Epic Games account.
    3. Search for "Hades" in the store and purchase (or claim if you got it free).
    4. Click Get (or Buy), then Install.
    5. Choose installation path and click Install.
    6. After download, click Launch.

    Nintendo Switch


    1. Ensure your Switch has internet and enough free space (microSD recommended if internal is full).
    2. Open Nintendo eShop from the home menu.
    3. Log in with your Nintendo Account (create one if needed).
    4. Search for "Hades" (use the magnifying glass icon).
    5. Select the game and click Proceed to Purchase / Download.
    6. Confirm your payment method (if buy) or select Download if you already own it.
    7. The download begins automatically; you can see progress on the home screen.
    8. Once downloaded, the game icon appears. Select it to play.

    PlayStation 4 & 5


    1. On your PS4/PS5, go to the PlayStation Store from the home screen.
    2. Sign in to your PlayStation Network account.
    3. Search for "Hades".
    4. Select the game and choose Add to Cart (or Download if already purchased).
    5. Complete purchase (if free, still confirm).
    6. The download starts automatically; you can monitor in Notifications > Downloads.
    7. After download, the game appears on your home screen. Press X to play.

    > PS5 Note: Hades runs via backwards compatibility but with improved load times. No separate PS5 version exists.

    Xbox One / Xbox Series X|S


    1. From the Xbox home screen, open Microsoft Store.
    2. Sign in with your Microsoft Account (or Xbox Live account).
    3. Search for "Hades".
    4. Select the game and click Get or Install (if you own it via Game Pass or purchase).
    5. If you have Xbox Game Pass, you can install directly from the Game Pass library.
    6. The download begins. You can track progress in My games & apps > Manage.
    7. Once finished, launch from the home screen.

    > Smart Delivery: Hades supports Smart Delivery, so on Xbox Series X|S you'll automatically get the optimised version (faster loading, 120 FPS support).

    4. First Launch Setup



    1. Language selection: At first launch, you can choose between English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified/Traditional), and others. This can be changed later in settings.
    2. Controls tutorial: The game will display basic controls. You can skip or review them in the Options menu.
    3. Graphics settings (PC only):
    - Resolution: Select your monitor's native resolution.
    - Fullscreen / Windowed / Borderless.
    - Quality preset: Low, Medium, High, Ultra. Recommend High for decent GPUs.
    - V-Sync: On/Off (off recommended for high refresh rate monitors).
    - Frame Rate Cap: 60, 120, 144, or Unlimited.
    4. Controller configuration: Hades auto-detects Xbox/PlayStation/Switch Pro controllers. For keyboard and mouse, you can rebind keys.
    5. Cloud saves: Steam and Epic allow cloud saves. On Switch, cloud saves require Nintendo Switch Online. On PlayStation/Xbox, cloud saves are part of respective online subscriptions (PS Plus / Game Pass Core).

    5. Storage Space Details



  • PC (Steam/Epic): ~15 GB download size. After installation, it uses approx 14.5 GB on disk (slight variation by language packs).

  • macOS: ~12 GB.

  • Nintendo Switch: ~3.5 GB (compressed).

  • PlayStation 4: ~4.2 GB.

  • PlayStation 5: ~4.2 GB.

  • Xbox One: ~4.3 GB.

  • Xbox Series X|S: ~4.3 GB.


Always ensure at least 1-2 GB free space beyond the game size for updates and save files.

6. Common Installation Errors & Fixes

Download stuck / slow on SwitchPause and resume download. Restart Switch (hold power button > Power Options > Restart).

Xbox: Installation stops at 99%Hard reset Xbox (hold power button for 10 seconds). After reboot, the installation completes.

7. Post-Installation Verification



After installation, run the game to confirm:
  • The main menu loads with music and background animation.

  • You can navigate menus (New Game, Load Game, Options, etc.).

  • Sound works (if not, check audio device settings in game and OS).

  • Controls respond (keyboard/controller).

  • The game runs at expected frame rate (check with in-game FPS counter in Options > Graphics > Show FPS).

  • No graphical glitches or crashes.
