Battlefield 4 offers thousands of items across weapons, gadgets, attachments, vehicle upgrades, cosmetics, and progression systems. Items are tied to class progression, vehicle unlocks, Battlepacks, and Assignments.

1. Weapons



Weapons are divided into Primary, Secondary, Gadgets, and Grenades. Each class (Assault, Engineer, Support, Recon) has access to specific primaries and gadgets.

3. Attachments



Attachments are unlocked per weapon via score, Battlepacks, or Assignments. They modify weapon performance.

5. Battlepacks

7. Dog Tags



Virtual collectibles displayed in-game after kills. Over 200 dog tags, earned via assignments, class progression, or Battlepacks. They serve no gameplay function but show your achievements.

9. Currency & Progression



Battlefield 4 has no premium currency. Progression is entirely score-based.

11. Special Items – XP Boosts



Obtained from Battlepacks. Consumable items that double or triple XP for a period (e.g., 25%, 50%, 100% boost for 1 hour). Use them during double XP events for maximum effect.

12. Collectibles – Single-Player



In the single-player campaign, there are 21 collectible “Field Upgrade” modules that unlock weapon attachments in multiplayer. They are found in hidden locations. Each module corresponds to a specific attachment (e.g., Red Dot Sight, Laser Sight). Collecting all unlocks the “Full Upgrade” achievement.

  • Most items are unlocked by playing the game; no real-money purchases required (except Premium for some content).

  • Synergies: Use the SOFLAM with Engineer’s Javelin for deadly anti-tank combos. Pair the Spawn Beacon with a suppressed PDW for flanks.
