1. Weapons

Weapons are divided into melee, ranged, shields, and catalysts. Each weapon class has unique movesets, damage types, stat scaling, and upgrade paths. Upgrading reinforces damage and scaling; infusing changes affinity (e.g., Heavy, Sharp, Raw).

Melee Weapons

  • Straight Swords: Fast, versatile. Examples: Longsword (early, all-rounder), Lothric Knight Sword (high crit, reach). Good for quality builds. Obtain Lothric Knight Sword from Lothric Knights in High Wall of Lothric (drop). Synergy: Sharp infusion + high Dexterity.

  • Greatswords: Slower but higher damage. Example: Claymore (early, great moveset). Found in High Wall of Lothric near the dragon. Ideal for strength or quality builds.

  • Ultra Greatswords: Massive damage, heavy. Example: Fume Ultra Greatsword (DLC, requires 50 Strength). Unique 2-handed moveset. Best with Heavy infusion and high Strength.

  • Curved Swords: Fast slashing. Example: Sellsword Twinblades (start as Mercenary, or farm from Grave Wardens). Extremely powerful with Sharp infusion and buffs. Best for Dexterity/Pyromancy hybrid builds.

  • Katanas: Bleed buildup. Example: Uchigatana (found in Undead Settlement near the shrine). Synergy: Bleed infusion + Carthus Rouge.

  • Hammers: Strike damage vs. armor. Example: Mace (start as Cleric, or buy from Greirat). Effective against crystal lizards and skeletons.

  • Axes: Medium speed, good damage. Example: Butcher Knife (drop from Butcher in Road of Sacrifices). Unique self-heal on hit.

  • Spears: Reach, thrust damage. Example: Saint Bident (found in Cathedral of the Deep). Good for shield poking.

  • Halberds: Sweeping attacks. Example: Red Hilted Halberd (drop from Red-Hilted enemies). Good for crowd control.

  • Daggers: Fast, critical damage. Example: Dagger (start as Thief, or any class). Used for ripostes and backstabs.

  • Fist Weapons: Low range, fast combos. Example: Caestus (buy from Greirat). Can parry, good for fist builds.

  • Reapers: Bleed, 2-handed moveset. Example: Great Scythe (found in Undead Settlement, mimics). Special weapon art: Neck Swipe.

  • Whips: Unblockable damage. Example: Whip (found in High Wall of Lothric, mimic). Useful against shields.

  • Ranged Weapons

  • Bows: Standard arrows. Example: Longbow (buy from Shrine Maiden). Special arrows (fire, dark, etc.) available later. Best with Dexterity.

Wait – correct: Greatbow is sold by Greirat after Irina rescue? Actually check: Dragonrider Bow is in Dark Souls 2. In DS3: Greatbow from the Giant Arrows? 9. Tips for Item Management

1. Always pick up every item you see – even if you have duplicates, they can be sold for souls or used for infusion.
2. Upgrade weapons you enjoy using – don't hoard titanite.
3. Infuse weapons according to your build's primary stat. Use Heavy for Strength, Sharp for Dexterity, Refined for quality, Chaos/Dark for pyromancers, Lightning for faith, Crystal for sorcery.
4. Carry multiple weapon types to deal with different enemy weaknesses (strike, thrust, slash).
5. Keep at least one upgraded bow for pulling enemies.
6. Use consumable souls immediately when safe to avoid loss.
7. Organize inventory using the 'Sort Items' option in the menu.
8. Beware of item burdens – weight capacity affects rolling speed. Stay under 70% equip load for mid-roll; under 30% for fast-roll.
