All Game Items Guide for Diablo III

Weapons


Weapons determine your primary damage output, attack speed, and often provide special affixes. They drop from monsters, chests, elite packs, bosses, and as rewards from Horadric Caches or Kadala (Blood Shards).

#### One-Handed Weapons
  • Swords, Maces, Axes, Spears, Daggers, Fist Weapons, Ceremonial Knives (WD), Flails (Crusader), Phylacteries (Necromancer off-hand but main-hand in some builds)

  • Usage: One-handed weapons are paired with a shield, off-hand source/mojo/quiver/phylactery, or a second one-handed weapon (dual-wield). They favor fast attack speed and often roll +Damage%, Attack Speed, Critical Hit Damage, or mainstat.

  • #### Two-Handed Weapons
  • Axes, Maces, Swords, Staves, Polearms, Bows, Crossbows, Daibo (Monk), Two-Handed Mighty Weapons (Barbarian), Two-Handed Flails (Crusader), Scythes (Necromancer)

  • Usage: Two-handers deal higher base damage per hit but slower attack speed. Used by builds that rely on big numbers (e.g., Whirlwind Barbarian uses two-handed mighty weapons, Legacy of Nightmare builds often use ancient two-handers).

  • Armor

  • Affixes: Socket (for helm gem: Amethyst for %Life, Diamond for CDR, Ruby for XP, Topaz for magic find), mainstat, critical hit chance (only on helms and bracers), vitality.

  • Class-specific: Wizards have Tal Rasha's helm; Barbarians have Immortal King's helm; Crusaders have Seeker of the Light helm.

  • #### Chest Armor
  • Affixes: 3 sockets (for topaz/ruby/emerald), mainstat, vitality, resists.

  • Affixes: Critical Hit Chance, Critical Hit Damage, Attack Speed, Average Damage (additive to weapon damage), mainstat, socket (for Legendary Gems).

  • Off-Hand Items


  • Sources/Mojos (Wizard/WD): Provide damage range, mainstat, cooldown reduction, or class-specific bonuses. E.g., Serpent's Sparker for Hydra Wizard, Tal Rasha's Guidance (source).

  • Mysterious Potion: From Whimsydale; increases magic find briefly.

  • Pandemonium Loop: (not a potion) but a ring that creates a pylon on kill.

  • Empowered or Greater Rift Keystones: Used to open Nephalem and Greater Rifts. Greater Rift Keystones drop from Rift Guardians at Torment levels.

  • Crafting Materials


    Materials are essential for upgrading rare items, rerolling stats at the Mystic, enchanting, and crafting sets or legendaries.

  • Common Materials: Reusable Parts, Arcane Dust, Veiled Crystal (from salvaging magic/rare/legendary items respectively).

  • Collectibles & Special Items


  • Kanai's Cube: Not an item that sits in inventory, but a special collectible extracted from Act III ruins after reaching level 70. It enables recipes: extract legendary powers, upgrade rare, reforge legendary, convert set items, etc. Requires materials.

  • Horadric Caches: Reward from completing all bounties in a single act. Contains bounty materials, gold, gems, and a chance for cache-specific legendaries (e.g., Ring of Royal Grandeur from Act I).

  • Puzzle Ring & Bovine Bardiche: Equip the ring to a follower or cube its power to spawn a treasure goblin portal (Greed’s Realm). Bovine Bardiche in cube opens the Cow Level (unique map).

  • Pet (Cosmetic): Not functional but collectible; drop from special events or whimsy.

  • Wings: Cosmetic pets/wings from events or pre-orders.

  • Stash Tabs: Up to 13 tabs; can be purchased with gold or earned via Season Journey.


  • Legendary & Set Items Overview


    While the full list of over 500 legendaries is impractical, key categories:
  • Set Bonuses: Classes have multiple 6-piece sets (e.g., Seeker of the Light for Crusader, Marauder's Set for DH). Sets define builds.

  • Legendary Gems: Socketed into jewelry in rings/amulets. Examples: Bane of the Trapped (damage vs slowed), Gogok of Swiftness (IAS/CDR), Enforcer (pet damage). Upgrade at Gem NPC after Greater Rift.

  • Legendary Potion Recipes: Drop randomly; unlock bottomless potion upgrades.

  • How to Obtain & When to Use


  • Early Game (1-70): Focus on rare (yellow) items with mainstat + vitality. Replace every few levels. Use Kana's Cube recipes only after 70.

  • Endgame (70+): Farm Rifts, Bounties, Greater Rifts for legendary drop rain. Target specific gear for build from Kadala, upgrading rares, or reforging at cube.

  • Seasonal vs Non-Seasonal: Seasonal items (new legendaries) become available after season ends; seasonal players get first access.
