    Story Overview & Setting


    Set six months after the events of Horizon Zero Dawn, the story follows Aloy, a young Nora hunter and clone of Dr. Elisabet Sobeck. A mysterious and deadly blight is spreading across the land, killing all organic life. Simultaneously, unpredictable and catastrophic storms rage, threatening the tribes. Aloy sets out to the Forbidden West—a dangerous frontier region stretching from the ruins of San Francisco to the Yosemite Valley—in search of the source of the blight and a way to restore the planet’s failing terraforming system. The narrative explores themes of legacy, sacrifice, and humanity’s relationship with technology.
