Overview

Genshin Impact is a free-to-play open-world action RPG developed by HoYoverse (formerly miHoYo). The game is available on multiple platforms, but note that cross-save and cross-play are supported between PC, PlayStation, and mobile. Currently, Genshin Impact is not available on Xbox consoles or Nintendo Switch (the Switch version was announced but has not been released as of 2025).

Step-by-Step Installation for Each Platform

1. PC (Official Launcher)

1. Visit [genshin.hoyoverse.com](https://genshin.hoyoverse.com/).
2. Click “Download Now” and choose the Windows version.
3. Run the downloaded `GenshinImpact_installer.exe` (≈150 MB).
4. Choose installation language and accept the EULA.

6. The launcher will download the full game (≈90 GB). This may take hours depending on your internet speed.

8. Click “Launch” in the launcher to start the game.

2. PC (Epic Games Store)

1. Open Epic Games Launcher (install it if you haven’t).
2. Go to the Store tab, search “Genshin Impact.”
3. Click “Get” to add it to your library (free).
4. Go to Library, find Genshin Impact, and click “Install.”
5. Choose installation directory and start download.
6. After download, the game will appear as playable.
7. Important: When you launch via Epic, it will also open the HoYoverse launcher. You can link your Epic account to your HoYoverse account on first launch.

3. PlayStation 4/5

1. On your console, go to PlayStation Store.
2. Search “Genshin Impact.”
3. Select the game and click “Download” (it’s free).
4. The console will download and install the game automatically.
5. After installation, launch the game from the home screen.

Note: PS4 and PS5 have separate trophy lists but share the same servers.

First Launch Setup



After installation, the first launch will guide you through:

1. Language Selection – Choose text and voice-over language (e.g., English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc.). You can change this later in settings.
